So Monday was an interesting day at work. At about 4:00, the store next to us came into our office and asked us if we had smoke in our office. We had not seen any, but when i walked in the back, i could see and smell something burning. We could tell immediately, that it was not coming from us, but from the dry cleaners that is right next to us. My Doc and i went next door to check it out, and the place was filled with smoke, but no flames in sight. So we did what anyone would do, finish up with our patients and called 911.
I was excited i was done with my patient, because i got to see this....

So not just one firetruck came, three came. Along with two ambulances, and three cops. Now like i said, no flames!!
So the firemen came in the office and evacuated us... Not before Nicole made me stand for a picture by one!!

There was a group of 4 fireman, that seemed particularly interested in our office. Maybe it was because of the three girls gawking over the men in uniform, so being the concerned hygienist i am, i got them all toothbrushes and floss. We can always use new patients right! Ha!
So 2.5 hours since smoke and since my last patient, we called it a night. No flames, no fire, but a faulty dryer next door, that was ready to blow. By far, the most exciting day at work!

WOW How exciting. Did you slip one of the fireman your number on that toothbrush? I can't believe it took them hours to figure out it was a dryer. Too funny. Come hang out with us when you can. See ya - Aub
You are too much!! If you were hurt in the fire I wouldnt leave your side and wouldnt let anyone visit you in the hospital!!!
Nice move with the toothbrushes. Of course you can still come visit. Just let me know when you want to come. Aaron needs 2 boards lesions (I can't remember exactly what those are...maybe class 2s?) and 1 perio patient with some bad but not impossibly bad calculus. Alicia has 1 boards lesion and the rest of my family is getting screened. He thinks he may have a perio pt out here. So that's where we're at. Let us know when you want to come out.
Way to go Jess! give those tooth brushes out, do they have your phone number on them as well? Only you would think of doing that. That's my girl! love ya, gma
Were any of fireman single? It is important before making such an obvious advance to make sure they are single. I tell you if Matt comes home with toothbrushes I am going to me miffed! Ha Ha That is awesome. I wish that would happen at my work - maybe then we would get a new office.
You never cease to amaze me! I'm with Aubrey, I want to know if you slipped your number into any of those complimentary sacks. I think you ought to have your name and number printed on some toothbrushes for emergencies like that :)
Congrats on your run today!!!!
Sweet!!! Yummy firemen, life does not get better than that! Cute pic of you, as well!
Hey if all it takes is a faulty dryer to get men in uniforms over I will be clawing at my dryer today! Hee hee!
