The Spirit of the Marathon

I am still on my path to the Newport marathon in May, and have never felt better. A couple weeks ago, i completed my first double digit run, with the help of my cousin Jesse, we ran 10! (THANKS JESS!) I was on such a high, until i realized that after that 10, i would still have 16.2 to do, to finish the marathon. Holy Crap! I just have to keep telling myself one day at a time, one mile at a time, and i will get there!! It is amazing to me, to look back to when i first started running and my pace was slow enough to walk and i could not even run a mile. On the 8th i run my first 1/2 marathon (13.1) and at that time, we book our flights. It is great to see all my 4:30am runs and saturday long runs are paying off!

This last week, i went to see this movie with Jesse and Blake. I saw it on the first night it played and loved it. It was only in the United States for one night, but because of what a huge hit it was, they brought it back for another night. So Jesse and Blake (cousins) who have both completed marathons and i went to watch, The Spirit of the Marathon. It is a story of 6 people training for the Chicago marathon. Some pro's, some previous marathoners, and some new to the sport. It is such a motivation and inspiration to watch others complete and train for the exact thing i am. It reminds me why i am doing it. My favourite quote out of the movie, " When you cross that finish line, your life will never be the same!"

I am so proud of you Jess. You are going to do amazing. I was wondering if in all your marathon training, you would want to do a relay Triathlon. I think I would drown if I did the swimming. So I was wondering if you wanted to swim and I could run and we could find a biker for the Salem Tri in June. Let me know. Love you.

It truly is a life changing experience. After 750 miles of training you'll be gliding across that line. Keep up the hard work. It only gets harder from here. ;) Feed the Warrior. Its go time

I was just talking to my hubby about starting to run. I have a not so great knee, so we will see how I do. I bet I cough up blood after I get down the street!
You are my running hero!

Hey I am going back to work after 3 years. Do you still have your dental assisting book? I can't find mine and I need to brush up on everything.
