Happy Birthday Kile and.... my 1st cake!

Since our cake class, the sister-in-laws and I have been looking forward to someone's birthday! This weekend was my brother Kile's, so i was very excited to test out my new skills. I went out and bought a football pan and could not wait to get that cake decorated. It was an odd shaped pan, so i was a little confused how to keep it even, then five min into the bake time a light went off and i understood how to make it even. A little too late, the cake came out a little lopsided, but being the skilled cake decorator i am after one class (ha ha), i knew just what do to. I filled the lopsided spots with lots of frosting! :)

This is one of the greatest things about being back in Utah, not missing a birthday party with the family! Happy Birthday Kile!!

So cute. I have never done fun cakes for my kiddies. All I think of is hand cramps when I look at stuff like that!

I started a new blog to show how I am changing myself. I am running 3 x's a week to train for a 5k in July. I might do the SLC 5k in April, but we will just have to see.

The blog is private so if you want to join leave me your email on my blog and I will add you. I don't publish the emails so don't worry.

I know someone I could set you up with if you want to do the blind date thing. wink, wink...

hey girl...it's been forever since i've checked in on you!! Looks like you're doing great! I am way excited for your goals...you will be awesome in the marathon! You have wanted it so badly. I am feeling like #2 is also in the cards for you!

I love that you have taken up cake decorating! That looks like fun! Things are good here. It's below 0 degrees here today with the wind chill, so we try to avoid going outside if at all possible! Work is good. 5 days is a killer, but one day that will end!

Keep in touch and run some for me too....i'm a lazy ARRSS!! ha

Oooo, that looks yummy. So I probably will reapply but went ahead and am taking classes here at CSN which are starting this Tuesday. But as for your letter I had no idea that you sent one out and no, they didn't give me a copy, hum. I want to see it! Thank you for sending one, that meant a lot Jess! I intend on reapplying after these classes so I would be more qualified. So we will see how it goes. Thank you for asking! So are you still in Boise or back in Utah?
