Let me tell you about my swim experience. First of all. I am a swimmer. I have swam since before i could walk, swam varsity all through high school, so i felt pretty confident. A 1/2 mile swim is equivalent to 38 laps in the pool. I had been swimming with Eric and it had been going great. I wish it had gone that great in the lake. I felt really good until about 50 yards to the shore. My right calve started to cramp, so i quite kicking and it felt a little better. The second i got out of the lake and started running to the transition area to meet Alicia, both right and left calves "super cramped." The type of cramps that made me take almost 4 min to get to Alicia. It was as i have seen in marathons. Debilitating cramps that made it grueling to watch them cross the finish line cramps. But i made it, and in record time. My only goal was to beat Eric, Jesse and Blake out of the pool. And i beat Eric by 2 seconds!! Ya!! Really, i gave Jesse advice and helped Eric out in the pool. I really should have skooled him, he is just too good at everything.
These two pics are of my cousins Gavin and Hunter. They are Alicia's boys. They were two of the loudest cheerleaders of all. They sported their Canada gear with utmost pride and chanted, "My mom is going to beat you, Canada, We will rock you." and many more...
Now a little shout out to Eric, he did so great at the triathlon. I felt really proud of his swim! It was fun to be able to be the teacher with him, instead of the student. I hope to make him as proud one day with an incredible run!! Last week, Eric fractured his skull and is off running for 6-8 weeks. Then just easy runs, nothing major for 6 months. This is major because he is one of the most dedicated people i know. So i dedicate this post to him and will be running for him until he gets that thick head of his better.

Jess, I really am totally impressed with how motivated you are! Doesn't it feel good to get out there and actually be involved in something that is bettering yourself!? You really are an inspiration, I am always so wishy-washy with my commitment to exercise so I really look up to you for how great you are doing.
P.S. Way to go with the swim, I've always heard that's the hardest part of a triathalon.
CONGRATS!! you never cease to amaze me! i love the team name! Good job--i never knew you were a swimmer!
Way to go Jess! Amazing how different swimming in a lake is vs. a pool, eh? I thought I was going to die the first time I did a triathlon (nd I was a swimmer too). Just getting kicked in the head a few times in really cold water about did me in. You rock! We'll have to do an event sometime.
You are so tough! I have lots of friends who love to do those. Maybe one day!
Jami- when are you moving?? We need to go out before!!
Thanks Crystal- you are so cute!!
Sprarky, lets find a race and do it!! San Fransisco??? How did i not know you did a triathlon. I remember you swam as well. So different. 1/2 mile cake in the pool, but so freaky when you are in the lake and you can't see a thing, but feel kicks and hits. Ha!
Kjersten, we need to do lunch too. I need to call ya!!
